Ms. No. 81, Environment and Forests (FR.1), 30th June 2017, ÝQ 16, «ýM÷‹H, F¼õœÀõ˜ ݇´-2048.] No. SRO B-44/2017.—In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to Article 309 of the Constitution of India, the Governor of Tamil Nadu hereby makes the following amendments to the Special Rules for the Tamil Nadu Forest Service (Section 15 in Volume II of the Tamil Nadu Service Manual, 1969). 2. (a) The amendment (1) hereby made shall be deemed to have come into force on the 14th September 2016. (b) The amendments (2) and (3) hereby made shall come into force on the 30th June, 2017. AMENDMENTS In the said Special Rules,- (1) for rule 3, the following rule shall be substituted, namely:- “3. Reservation of Appointments.—The principle of reservation of appointments as provided in Section 27 of the Tamil Nadu Government Servants (Conditions of Service) Act, 2016 (Tamil Nadu Act 14 of 2016) shall apply to the appointment of Assistant Conservator of Forests by direct recruitment.”; (2) in rule 4, in sub-rule (1), for clause (b) and the Note thereunder, the following clause shall be substituted namely:- “(b) Must possess Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering in any one of the following subjects obtained from any University or Institution recognized by the University Grants Commission for purpose of its grant:- (i) Forestry; (ii) Botany; (iii) Zoology; (iv) Physics; (v) Chemistry; (vi) Mathematics; (vii) Statistics; (viii) Geology; (ix) Agriculture; (x) Horticulture; (xi) Engineering (Agricultural or Civil or Chemical or Computer or Electrical or Electronics or Mechanical); (xii) Computer Applications/Science; (xiii) Environmental Science: (xiv) Veterinary Science: Provided that in the case of graduates in Mathematics or Statistics, they must have taken one of the following subjects in their P.U.C. or Higher Secondary or Matriculation or equivalent Examination, namely:- (i) Biology (ii) Physics or (iii) Chemistry: Provided also that, other things being equal, preference shall be given to the candidates who possess a degree in Forestry or a post graduate degree in Wild Life Biology.”; (3) in rule 6, in sub-rule (b), Explanation shall be omitted.
