Exclusion of “Vijaya Bank” and “Dena Bank” from the Second Schedule of
the Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934 and cessation as banking companies
“Vijaya Bank” and “Dena Bank” have been excluded from the Second Schedule to
the Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934 with effect from April 01, 2019 since they
have ceased to carry on banking business with effect from April 01, 2019 vide
Notification DBR.No.Ret.BC.35/12.01.001/2018-19 dated April 10, 2019 which
was published in the Gazette of India (Part III - Section 4) dated August 10, 2019
– August 16, 2019.
