NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 19th June, 2026 No. BCI:D: 3756/2026.— Extract of the minutes of the meeting of the General Council of the Bar Council of India, which was held on Monday, 8th June, 2026 in the premises of the Bar Council of India at New Delhi.
Commencement and operation of Rules made by the Bar Council of India:- Any Rule, amendment, substitution, insertion, repeal or modification of any Rule made by the Bar Council of India shall come into force from the date on which the resolution approving the same is passed by the Bar Council of India, unless the Bar Council of India, by such resolution, appoints any subsequent or prior date for its coming into force.
The resolution approving such Rule, amendment, substitution, insertion, repeal or modification shall expressly specify the date from which the same shall come into force.
Any Rule, provision, practice or procedure of the Council inconsistent with this Rule shall, to the extent of such inconsistency, stand inoperative and shall not affect the commencement or operation of any Rule made in terms hereof.
