FCI, Regional Office Maharashtra commenced the sale of rice under the Open Market Sale
Scheme (Domestic) from the first week of August 2025 through e-auction. The initiative is
aimed at augmenting market availability of rice and helping in the moderation of prices.
Interested buyers may get themselves empanelled with FCI’s authorised e-auction service
provider, m-Junction Services Limited, through the portal https://www.valuejunction.in/fci/. The
empanelment process is completed within 72 hours for parties registering for participation.
Under the OMSS (D) through normal sale, a total quantity of 10,000 MT of rice from the
Maharashtra region is being offered for the upcoming e-auctions scheduled on 24.12.2025 and
26.12.2025. Traders, bulk buyers and rice manufacturers are eligible to participate. The
minimum bidding quantity is 1 MT, while the maximum quantity per bidder shall not exceed
7,000 MT.
In addition, rice is also being offered under OMSS (D) through dedicated movement (bulk sale)
via e-auction. Under this mode, a total of 50,000 MT of rice along with 40,000 MT of non-FRK
CMR rice with 10 percent broken rice, comprising 10,000 MT from Punjab and 30,000 MT from
Andhra Pradesh, is being offered from the Maharashtra region in the same e-auctions scheduled
on 24.12.2025 and 26.12.2025. Bulk consumers and traders of rice may participate under this
category. The minimum bidding quantity for dedicated movement is 2,500 MT. Successful
bidders will be required to intimate the railhead destination for receipt of stocks to the GM
(Region). The Open Market Sale Scheme (Domestic) is intended to enhance market supply,
check rising prices of rice and provide relief to consumers.
