Ministry of Railways Feasibility Study Underway to Develop Talgaria Station of Jharkhand as Satellite Terminal by Railways; Capacity Expansion to Benefit Passengers in Dhanbad-Bokaro Industrial Belt Rail Capacity at Talgaria Station Improved with Completion of 38 Km Track Doubling Between Talgaria and Bokaro North Cabin Work on 12.5 Km Bhojudih-Talgaria Section is going on to Further Boost Capacity Rail Infrastructure Budget in Jharkhand Rises Nearly 16-Fold from ₹457 Cr per Year (2009-14) to ₹7,306 Cr in 2025-26 Jharkhand Sees Completion of 1,120 Km Km of Major Rail Projects Worth ₹12,712 Crore Recently This includes 202 Km Koderma-Ranchi New Line, 160 Km Ramna-Singrauli Doubling, 130 Km Mandarhill-Dumka- Rampurhat Line and 75 Km Dongaposi–Rajkharswan 3rd Line Posted On: 18 MAR 2026 5:06PM by PIB Delhi Talgaria Station is situated on Bokaro- Adra section of South Eastern Railway about 30 km from Bokaro.There are 06 lines (2 main lines & 4 loop lines) and 04 high level platforms at Talgaria Station. Average daily footfall at Talgaria Station is about 200 passengers. This station is presently being served by 04 train services as under: SN Train Number & Name 1 18013 Adra - Bokaro Steel City Express 2 18014 Bokaro Steel City - Adra Express 3 68079 Bhojudih - Chandrapura MEMU 4 68080 Chandrapura - Bhojudih MEMU At Talgaria station, all passenger facilities like platform shelter, urinal, lavatory, waiting hall, drinking water arrangement, seating arrangement, Foot Over Bridge etc. are available. The works of high-level platform, platform shelter, booking office cum waiting hall, toilet, water booth, Divyangjan ramp at platform no. 1 and 3 m Foot Over Bridge have been completed in recent years.Talgaria Station To augment capacity of Talgaria Station, Doubling of Talgaria – Bokaro North Cabin section (38 Km) has been recently completed. Work for doubling of Bhojudih – Talgaria section (12.5 Km) has been taken up to augment the capacity further. There are 09 lines & 03 high level platforms existing at Bokaro Steel City Station. Further, Bokaro Steel City Station has been identified for development under Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. The feasibility of developing Talgaria Station as a satellite terminal has been taken up. Jharkhand: Railway Budget: Budget allocation in the recent years has increased significantly. Development / redevelopment / upgradation / modernisation of a station is carried out based on category of station/condition/traffic handled etc. So far, 1,338 stations have been identified for development under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. Out of these, 57 stations are located in Jharkhand. Balsiring station: The works of improvement of station building, platform shelter, parking, approach road, Divyangjan toilet and ticket counter have been completed. The works of platform surfacing and Foot Over Bridge have been taken up. Bano station: The works of improvement of station building, circulating area, approach road, station lighting and ramp have been completed. The works of platform shelter, platform surfacing, drinking water booth and Divyangjan toilet have been taken up. Tatisilwai station: The works of improvement of station building, entrance porch, platform shelter, waiting hall, circulating area, approach road and signage have been completed. The work of Foot Over Bridge has been taken up. Development / Upgradation / Modernization of stations including Amrit Bharat Station Scheme is generally funded under Plan Head-53 ‘Customer Amenities’. The details of allocation and expenditure under Plan Head-53 are maintained Zonal Railway-wise and not work-wise or station-wise or state-wise. Jharkhand is covered under the jurisdiction of three railway zones, namely, Eastern Railway, East Central Railway and South Eastern Railway. For these zones, an allocation of ₹ 1,469 crore has been made for the financial year 2025-26, out of which an expenditure (up to February, 2026) of ₹ 1,447 crore has been incurred so far.
