ELECTIONS TO LOCAL BODIES - REGISTRATION OF POLITICAL PARTY “AMARAVATI PARTY”.
No. 65/SEC-L/2025: The President, AMARAVATI PARTY made an application to the A.P.
State Election Commission (APSEC) or registration of “AMARAVATI PARTY” as a political
party under the provisions of the Registration of Political Parties and Allotment of Symbols
Order, 2001 issued by the APSEC.
2. The APSEC set in motion the process of registration of “AMARAVATI PARTY” as per
the provisions of the Registration of Political Parties and Allotment of Symbols Order, 2001
giving a Public Notice by the applicant calling for objections, if any, from the general public for
registration of the said party. The Notice was published by the applicant party in daily
newspapers of ‘Deccan Chronicle’ and ‘Surya’ on 02.03.2026 and 03.03.2026 respectively. The
Notice was also published in the Extraordinary issue of the Andhra Pradesh Gazette vide
Gazette No. 19, dated 17.03.2026.
3. No objections were received by the APSEC from any quarter for the proposed
registration of “AMARAVATI PARTY” as a political party in response to the said Notices and
Gazette Notification.

4. Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred under Article 243K of the
Constitution of India and Paragraph 3 in Part II of the Registration of Political Parties and
Allotment of Symbols Order, 2001, the A.P. State Election Commission, hereby, registers the
“AMARAVATI PARTY” as a political party without a reserved symbol.
5. The registration shall not entitle the party for reservation of any exclusive symbol for it.
However, the candidates duly set up by the said party in Local Body elections held on party
basis will be entitled to preferential treatment over the independent candidates in allotment of
free symbols under Paragraph 5A(a) in Part-III of the Registration of Political Parties and
Allotment of Symbols Order, 2001.
6. Under Paragraph 3(9)(a) in Part-II of the Registration of Political Parties and Allotment
of Symbols Order, 2001, the party shall communicate to the A.P. State Election Commission,
without delay, any change in its name, head office, office bearers, address or in any other
material information duly following the procedure laid down in the said Order.
7. It is also informed that the APSEC, while registering a political party, does not approve
the flags of political parties, and if the party has a flag, it shall be the own responsibility of the
party to ensure that the flag does not violate the provisions of the Emblems and Names
(Prevention of Improper Use) Act, 1950 or the Flag Code of India or any other relevant law
related to the subject, and that its flag does not imitate in any manner the flag of any other
political party.
