(Memo No.178/Elecs.D/2025-9, Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Andhra Pradesh, dated:17.04.2025) The following notification of the Election Commission of India, New Delhi, No.100/CS- AP/01/2025 (1), dated 22nd April, 2025 / Vaisakha 02, 1947 (Saka) is republished:- NOTIFICATION No.100/CS-AP/01/2025 (1):- WHEREAS, the seat of Shri Venumbaka Vijaya Sai Reddy, in the Council of States, elected by the elected members of the Legislative Assembly of Andhra Pradesh, has become vacant on 25.01.2025 by the reason of his resignation, before the expiration of his term of office which was up to and including 21.06.2028; and WHEREAS, a bye-election is to be held for the purpose of filling the vacancy so caused;2 ANDHRA PRADESH GAZETTE EXTRAORDINARY [PART-V NOW, THEREFORE, in pursuance of Section 147, sub-section (1) of Section 39 and Section 56 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951 (43 of 1951), the Election Commission hereby- (A) calls upon the elected members of the Legislative Assembly of Andhra Pradesh to elect, before 13th May, 2025 and in accordance with the provisions of the said Act and of the rules and orders made thereunder, a person for the purpose of filling the said vacancy in the Council of States; (B) appoints, with respect to the said election; (a) the 29th April, 2025 (Tuesday), as the last date for making nominations; (b) the 30th April, 2025 (Wednesday), as the date for the scrutiny of the nominations; (c) the 02nd May, 2025 (Friday), as the last date for the withdrawal of candidatures; (d) the 09th May, 2025 (Friday), as the date on which a poll shall, if necessary, be taken; and (e) the 13th May, 2025 (Tuesday), as the date before which the election shall be completed; and (C) fixes the hours from 09:00 am to 04:00 pm, as the hours during which the poll shall, if necessary, be taken on the date specified above for the election. The following notification of the Election Commission of India, New Delhi, No.100/CS- AP/01/2025 (2), dated 22nd April, 2025 / Vaisakha 02, 1947 (Saka) is republished:- NOTIFICATION No.100/CS-AP/01/2025 (2):- In pursuance of Section 21, and in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 22 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951 (43 of 1951), the Election Commission, in consultation with the Government of the State of Andhra Pradesh, hereby– (i) designates the officer, specified in column (1) of the TABLE below, to be the Returning Officer; and (ii) appoints the officers, specified in column (2) of the said TABLE, to be the Assistant Returning Officers to assist the Returning Officer in the performance of her functions; in respect of the bye-election to the Council of States, to be held in the State in pursuance of the Commission’s Notification, published in the Gazette of India on 22nd April, 2025: - TABLE Officer Designated as Officers Appointed as Returning Officer Assistant Returning Officers (1) (2) Smt.
