Whereas Tamil Nadu Medical Council is a statutory body established by Government of Tamil Nadu under Madras Medical Registration Act, 1914 and catering to the needs of Medical Practitioners in respect of registration, ensuring their CPD and enforcing the code of conduct for ethical practice; 2. And whereas, based on the powers conferred under Section 13 & 14 of the Madras Medical Registration Act, 1914, every person who possess requisite qualifications prescribed by National Medical Commission is entitled to be registered with Tamil Nadu Medical Council on furnishing proof of their qualifications and identity; 3. And whereas, in order to ensure the identification of the individual, Tamil Nadu Medical Council at its General Business Meeting held on 5th January 2022, resolved to avail Aadhaar Authentication Services under Regulation 15 of Aadhaar (Authentication) Regulations, 2016; 4. And whereas, a Notification that Tamil Nadu Medical Council has proposed to avail Aadhaar Identification services for Good Governance was issued in Tamil Nadu Government Gazette on March 30, 2022; 5. And whereas, TNeGA who is the authority selected by TNMC to implement the systems for Aadhaar Identification process, informed on February 2023, that the above notification issued by TNMC does not pertain to the services on voluntary basis for authentication of medical practitioners under Rule 5 of the Aadhaar Authentication for Good Governance (Social Welfare, Innovation Knowledge) Rules, 2020 read with section 4(4)(b)(ii) of the Aadhaar Act, 2016 (as amended); 6. And whereas as per Rule 3 of the Aadhaar Authentication for Good Governance (Social Welfare, Innovation, Knowledge) Rules, 2020, the Central Government may allow Aadhaar authentication on a voluntary basis by requesting entities, in the interest of good governance, promoting ease of living of residents and enabling better access to services for them; 7. Now therefore, under Rule 5 of the Aadhaar Authentication for Good Governance (Social Welfare, Innovation, Knowledge) Rules, 2020, with the approval of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Tamil Nadu, for the purpose of usage of digital platforms to ensure good governance, hereby notifies the following, namely: a.
