Ministry of Law and Justice Government Strengthens Digital Justice and Legal Aid Infrastructure Across Odisha Under eCourts and Tele-Law Initiatives प्रव तथ: 25 JUL 2026 8:49PM by PIB Delhi The details of Budget Estimates, Revised Estimates and actual expenditure during the last three years under the e-Courts Mission Mode Project, Tele-Law Programme, National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) and Gram Nyayalaya Scheme, across the country including the state of Odisha are at Annexure I. The State/UT-wise details of funds sanctioned, released and utilized under e-Courts Mission Mode Project Phase III, NALSA and Gram Nyayalaya is at Annexure II. As per the information provided by the eCommittee, Supreme Court of India, in the State of Odisha, 16 ADR Centres have been constructed and are functioning in 16 districts including the districts of Ganjam and Kandhamal. For the remaining 14 districts including the districts of Boudh and Nayagarh, Mediation Centres are functioning in the office of the District Legal Services Authority. For online adjudication of traffic challans, 31 virtual courts (asynchronous courts) have been set up across the country, including 1 in Odisha. The status of courts under the e-Courts project, Tele-Law, legal aid clinics, and Gram Nyayalayas, district- wise, in Odisha including the districts of Kandhamal, Boudh, Nayagarh and Ganjam is at Annexure III. Adequate budgetary provisions are made for additional judicial infrastructure, virtual courts, digital literacy programmes and legal aid facilities across the country including in all tribal and aspirational districts in Odisha, based on approved outlay and availability of funds. Financial assistance is provided under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme (CSS) for strengthening court infrastructure. Tele-Law services are available through Common Service Centres (CSCs) to provide pre-litigation legal advice. Under the eCourts Project, digital services such as e-Filing, e-Pay, Virtual Courts, video conferencing and the National Judicial Data Grid (NJDG) have been implemented. Free legal aid is extended through the Legal Services Authorities. Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) mechanisms, including Lok Adalats and mediation, are also being promoted for expeditious resolution of disputes.
