Will the Minister of HEAVY INDUSTRIES be pleased to state:
(a) whether Government has issued guidelines for adoption of Electric Vehicles (EVs) in
Central/State Governments and PSUs;
(b) if so, the extent of EV adoption in the last two years; and
(c) the support extended to promote EV infrastructure through FAME-II scheme?

(a): No such guidelines have been issued on a pan-India basis. However, the Ministry of
Finance, vide its Office Memorandum dated 1st September, 2022, has advised Ministries and
Departments to aim at replacing petrol and diesel cars hired by their secretariats and attached
offices located in Delhi with electric vehicles. Further, Commission for Air Quality
Management in National Capital Region and Adjoining Areas (CAQM) has issued Advisory
No. 17 dated 02.05.2025 regarding procurement of clean vehicles by Governments, Public
Sector Undertakings and Public Institutions in National Capital Region(NCR). CAQM has
also issued series of directions on migration to cleaner mobility for abatement of air pollution
in NCR.
(b): No such data is maintained centrally.
(c): Under FAME-II, Rs. 912.50 crore has been allocated for installation of 9,332 EV public
charging stations (EVPCS) out of which 8,885 EVPCS have been installed as on 30.06.2025.
