AMENDMENT In the said Rules, for rule 3, following rule and the Explanation there under shall be substituted, namely:- “3. In case of research experience good academic record and books I research paper publications/Intellectual Property Rights I patents record shall be required as deemed fit by the expert members of the Selection Committee. If the experience in industry is considered, the same shall be at managerial level equivalent to Professor level with active participation record in devising I designing, developing, planning, executing, analyzing, quality control innovating training, technical books/ research paper publications I Intellectual Property Rights I patents etc as deemed fit by the expert members of the Selection Committee. 4. Flair for Management and Leadership is essential. 5. For an incumbent Assistant Professor, experience at the level of Assistant Professor will be considered equivalent to experience at the level of Associate Professor, provided the incumbent Assistant Professor has acquired or acquires Ph.D. Degree in the relevant discipline. 4.Experience at Diploma Institutions is also considered equivalent to experience in degree level Institutions at appropriate level and as applicable. However, qualifications as above shall be mandatory. 5.If a class/division is not awarded, minimum of 60% marks in aggregate shall be considered equivalent to first class/ division. No. A 952 of 1964, dated the 10th September 1964 published at pages 973-974 of Part V of the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette, dated the 30th September 1964. 2. The amendments hereby made shall be deemed to have come into force with effect from 5th May, 2010. AMENDMENTS In the said Rules, (1) For the expression “Assistant Professor” wherever it occurs, the expression ”Associate Professor” shall be substituted. (2) In rule 3(i), for the expression “Lecturers”, the expression “Assistant Professors” shall be substituted. (3) In rule 5, for item (i),(ii),(iii), the following shall be substituted, namely:- (i) (a) B.E / B.Tech and M.E / M.Tech in relevant branch with first class or equivalent either in B.E / B.Tech or M.E / M.Tech and Ph.D or equivalent, in appropriate discipline; (b) Post Ph.D publications and guiding Ph.D students is highly desirable; and (ii)Minimum of five years experience in teaching / research / industry experience of which TWO years post Ph.D experience is desirable. (iii) In case of Architecture, Professional Practice of 5 years as certified by the Council of Architecture shall also be considered valid. Explanation:-. 1.
