Constitution:–The post shall constitute a distinct category in the said class of the said service. 3. Appointment:–Appointment to the post shall be made by,- (i) Recruitment by transfer from the post of Physical Training Instructor in the Tamil Nadu Technical Educational Subordinate Service. (ii) If no qualifi ed and suitable person is available for recruitment by transfer, then Direct recruitment through the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission. 4. Appointing Authority:– The appointing authority for the post shall be the Government. 5. Age:–No person shall be eligible for appointment to the post by direct recruitment, if he has completed or will complete 57 years of age on the fi rst day of July of the year in which the vacancy is notifi ed. 6. Qualifi cation:–No person shall be eligible for appointment to the post unless he possesses the following qualifi cations, namely: (a) A Master’s Degree in Physical Education or Master’s Degree in Sports Science with at least Fifty fi ve percentage of marks or its equivalent grade of ‘B’ in the University Grants Commission seven point scale with a consistently good academic record. Provided that candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe or Differently-abled categories (Physically and visually differently-abled) shall possess not less than fi fty percentage of marks: Provided further that the holders of Ph.D Degree in Physical Education, who have passed their Master’s Degree in Physical Education / Sports Science prior to the 19th September 1991, shall possess not less than fi fty percentage of marks in Master’s Degree. (b) Record of having represented the University / College at the Inter-University / Inter-Collegiate competitions or the State and / or national championship. (c) A pass in the National Eligibility Test (NET) or other accredited test like State Level Eligibility Test (SLET) in Physical Education conducted for the purpose by the University Grants Commission or any other agency approved by the University Grants Commission. “Provided that a person who is or has been awarded a Ph.D. Degree through a process of admission, registration, course work and external evaluation as laid down in the University Grants Commission (minimum standards and procedure for award of Ph.D. Degree), Regulation 2009, is exempted from passing in the NET/SLET tests” and (d) Passed the Physical Fitness Test conducted in accordance with UGC Regulations. 7.
