Notification No. SRO A-19/2024, exercising powers conferred by section 15 of the Tamil Nadu Home Guard Act, 1963 (Tamil Nadu Act 3 of 1963), amends the Tamil Nadu Home Guard Rules, 1963. Specifically, in rule 9, sub-rule (2), clause (i-B) is substituted to address the selection and appointment of a Deputy Area Commander (for Women's Wing only). The Commissioner of Police in the City or the Superintendent of Police in the District will select and appoint the Deputy Area Commander, subject to the Deputy Commandant General's approval. The rank assigned will be Assistant Commissioner of Police in the City or Deputy Superintendent of Police in the District. The retirement age for the Deputy Area Commander is sixty years.
