The following draft of the amendments to the Tamil Nadu Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989 which it is proposed to be made in exercise of the powers conferred by clause (k) of sub-section (2) of section 65 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 (Central Act 59 of 1988), is hereby published for the information of all persons likely to be affected thereby, as required under sub-section (1) of section 212 of the said Act. 2. Notice is hereby given that the draft amendments will be taken into consideration on or after the expiry of thirty days from the date of publication of this Notification in the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette and that any objection or suggestion which may be received from any person with respect thereto before the expiry of the aforesaid period will be considered by the Government of Tamil Nadu. 3. Objection or suggestion, if any, should be addressed in duplicate to the Additional Chief Secretary to Government, Home, Prohibition & Excise Department, Secretariat, Chennai-9. Draft Amendments. In the said Rules,- (1) in rule 91,- (i) in sub-rule (1), after the expression “assign the registration number”, the expression “through an online process that is in force from time to time,” shall be inserted; (ii) in sub-rule (3), for the expression “thousand”, the expression “two thousand” shall be substituted; (iii) in sub-rule (4), for the expression “a lot”, the expression “e-bidding” shall be substituted; Ex-III-1(a)—(485) [1]2 TAMIL NADU GOVERNMENT GAZETTE EXTRAORDINARY (iv) for sub-rule (5), the following sub-rule shall be substituted, namely:- “(5)(i) A person desirous of e-bidding shall pay an entry fee as specified in the Table under rule 132. (ii) The successful bidder shall pay the bidding amount, as specified in the Table under rule 132 for the reservation of advance registration number within forty eight hours of successful bidding, failing which the reservation of the advance registration number shall be cancelled; (iii) The number reserved under sub-rule (2) or sub-rule (3) shall be allotted on production of the vehicle within thirty days from the date of reservation of such number, failing which the number reserved shall be cancelled and will be allotted on daily routine serial.”; (2) in rule 132, in THE TABLE, against Serial No.1, in clause (b), after item (iv), the following items and entries shall be inserted in columns(1) to (5) thereof, namely:- “ (v) entry fee for e-bidding; 1000 91(5)(i) … (vi) bidding amount In multiples of Rs.500/- 91(5)(ii) …”.
