NOTIFICATION In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 55 of the Karnataka Excise Act, 1965 (Karnataka Act 21 of 1966) and in supersession of earlier notifications issued in this behalf, the Government of Karnataka hereby specifies that the Excise Officers not below the rank of Sub-Inspector of Excise of the sub-division specified in column (2) of the table-1 and the range specified in column (2) of the table-2 below shall exercise powers conferred on Officers- in-charge of Police Station specified in column (3) under the provisions of the code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (Central Act 4 of 1974), in regard to offences specified under Section 32, 33, 34, 36, 37, 38 and 38-A of the Karnataka Excise Act, 1965 within their respective jurisdiction as specified in the corresponding entries in column (4) thereof and the boundaries specified in column (5) thereof with immediate effect.
