NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 4th September, 2025
G.S.R. 605(E).––– In pursuance of the powers conferred by sub-rule (1) of rule 8 of the Indian
Administrative Service (Recruitment) Rules, 1954, the Central Government, after consultation with the State
Government concerned and the Union Public Service Commission, hereby makes the following regulations further to
amend the Indian Administrative Service (Appointment by Promotion) Regulations, 1955, namely:-
1. (1) These regulations may be called the Indian Administrative Service (Appointment by Promotion)
Amendment Regulations, 2025.
(2) They shall come into force from the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
2. In the Schedule to the Indian Administrative Service (Appointment by Promotion) Regulations, 1955, in
the Table, against serial number 1, in column (3) under sub-heading “Other members of the Committee”, in item (d),
after the words “Special Secretary/Additional Secretary”, the words “/Joint Secretary” shall be inserted.
