NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 29th May, 2017
F. No. CA/1/2017/Regulations.—In exercise of powers conferred by clause (e), (g), (h), and (j) of
sub-section (2) of Section 45 read with Section 21 of the Architects Act, 1972 (20 of 1972), the Council of
Architecture, with the approval of the Central Government, hereby makes the following Regulations further to
amend the Council of Architecture (Minimum Standards of Architectural Education) Regulations, 1983, the
same having been previously published in the Gazette of India (Part III - Section 4) on 26th March, 1983, 27th
August, 1983 and 7th January, 2006, respectively, namely :—
1. (1) These Regulations may be called the Council of Architecture (Minimum Standards of Architectural
Education) (Amendment) Regulations, 2017.
(2) They shall come into force from the academic session 2019-2020.
2. In Regulation 4 of the Council of Architecture (Minimum Standards of Architectural Education)
Regulations, 1983:
(i) for sub-regulations (1) and (2), the following sub-regulation be substituted, namely:-
“(1) No candidate shall be admitted to architecture course unless she/ he has passed an examination
at the end of the 10+2 scheme of examination with 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and
Mathematics and also 50% marks in aggregate of the 10+2 level examination”.
(ii) the existing Regulations 4(3) and 4(4) be renumbered as 4(2) and 4(3).
