NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 15th June, 2026
F. No. CA/498/2026/MSAE(Regulations).— In exercise of powers conferred by clauses (e), (g), (h)
and (j) of sub-section (2) of Section 45 read with Section 21 of the Architects Act, 1972 (20 of 1972), the
Council of Architecture, with the approval of the Central Government, hereby makes the following
Regulations to further amend the Council of Architecture (Minimum Standards of Architectural Education)
Regulations 2020, the same having been published in the Gazette of India, Part-III-Section-4 dated the 11th
August, 2020, namely: -
1. (1) These Regulations may be called the Council of Architecture (Minimum Standards of Architectural
Education) (Amendment) Regulations, 2026.
(2) They shall come into force from the date of their publication in the official Gazette.
2. In the Council of Architecture (Minimum Standards of Architectural Education) Regulations, 2020, in
Regulation 4 for sub-regulation (2), which was amended earlier vide notification dated 19.07.2023,
the following sub-regulation shall be substituted namely :-
“(2) The candidate needs to qualify an aptitude test in architecture conducted either by NTA (i.e.
JEE) or “NATA” by Council of Architecture. However, admission of candidates in Bachelor of
Architecture Degree course under Direct Admission of Students Abroad (DASA) scheme of the
Government of India uptil the academic year 2020-2021 based on SAT Subject Test will be
considered as valid admission for the purpose of acquiring recognized qualification.”
