This notification, issued by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Department of Commerce, amends the Import Policy Conditions for arecanut under Exim Code 0802 80 of Chapter 8 of ITC (HS) 2012, Schedule 1 – Import Policy. Effective January 17, 2017, the Central Government has revised the minimum CIF value for arecanut imports from Rs. 162 per kilogram to Rs. 251 per kilogram. This revision applies to the following Exim Codes: 0802 80 10 (Whole), 0802 80 20 (Split), 0802 80 30 (Ground), and 0802 80 90 (Other). Imports under these codes are permitted freely, provided the CIF value is Rs. 251 or more per kilogram. This notification is issued in exercise of powers conferred by Section 3 of the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992, read with paragraphs 1.02 and 2.01 of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2015-2020. S.O. 171(E).—In exercise of powers conferred by Section 3 of FT (D&R) Act, 1992, read with paragraph 1.02
and 2.01 of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2015-2020, as amended from time to time, the Central Government hereby amends
the Import Policy Conditions of arecanut under Exim Code 0802 80 of Chapter 8 of ITC (HS) 2012, Schedule 1 (Import
Policy) as under:
2. The CIF value of Areca Nuts under the following Exim Codes of Chapter 8 of ITC (HS) 2012, Schedule 1
(Import Policy) is revised from the present ‘Rs.162/- and above per Kilogram’ to ‘Rs.251/- and above per Kilogram’. The
revised entries shall be as under:
