NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 30th March, 2017
G.S.R. 312(E).— In exercise of powers conferred by the proviso to article of 309 of the Constitution, the
President hereby makes the following rules to amend the Central Secretariat Stenographers’ Service Rules, 2010
namely:-
1. Short title and commencement.-(1) These rules may be called the Central Secretariat Stenographers Service
(Amendment) Rules, 2016.
(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
2. In the Central Secretariat Stenographers Rules, 2010
for rule 17, the following shall be substituted, namely:-
“17. Pay.- The Level in the Pay Matrix attached to the various Grades of the Service shall be as follows:-

* The non-functional pay matrix of Level-10, Rs.56100-177500 shall be admissible to the regular Private
Secretaries of the service on completion of four years of approved service in that grade. The Private Secretaries
who are granted the non-functional pay scale would continue to remain in Group ‘B’ (Gazetted). The eligibility
period of service for promotion to the grade of Principal Private Secretary shall be reckoned on the basis of total
period of service in both the levels of pay in the grade of Private Secretary. ”
