New Delhi, the 8th March, 2016
No. 2/2(2)/2011-Estt./CERC.—In exercise of powers conferred under Section 178 read with Section
91 of The Electricity Act, 2003, the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission with the approval of the
Central Government hereby makes the following Regulations, to amend the Central Electricity Regulatory
Commission (Recruitment, Control and Service Conditions of Staff) Regulations, 2007 (here in after referred
to as “the Principal Regulations”), namely:
1. Short title and commencement:
(i) These Regulations shall be called as the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission
(Recruitment, Control and Service Conditions of Staff) (Third Amendment) Regulations,
2016.
(ii) These Regulations shall come into effect from the date of their publication in the Official
Gazette.
2. Amendment of Regulation 5 of the Principal Regulations relating to the Sanctioned Strength :
(i) The following shall be inserted below the post of Integrated Financial Adviser:

5. Amendment of Appendix-II to the Principal Regulations (Educational Qualification, Experience etc.
for appointment of staff on direct recruitment basis) :
(i) After Sl. No. 1 of Appendix-II, the following shall be inserted:
“1(A) Junior Hindi Translator : Must hold (i) Master Degree from a recognised University in Hindi with
English as a subject at the degree level or in English with Hindi as a subject at degree level, or (ii) Master
Degree from a recognised university in any subject with Hindi as a medium of instruction and English / Hindi
as a compulsory subject at degree level, or (iii) Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university with Hindi,
English as main subject or either of the two as medium of examination and other as a main subject plus
recognised Diploma / Certificate Course in Translation from Hindi to English and vice versa. Must have two
years experience of terminology work in Hindi or Translation work from English to Hindi or vice versa in
Government offices.
Age Limits: The age of the applicant should be between 18 to 27 years. However, usual age relaxation will
be admissible to SC/ST/OBC etc. as per Government Orders in force. (Relaxable for Government servants up
to 35 years in accordance with the instructions or orders issued by the Central Government from time to time).
Note: The crucial date for determining the age limit shall be the closing date of the receipt of applications
from candidates in India.”
(i) After Sl. No. 1 of Appendix-II, the following shall be inserted:
“2(A) Hindi Typist (LDC) :
1) Must have passed 12th Class examination or equivalent with Hindi as a subject or medium of
examination.
2) Certificate from any Government recognised Institute for Hindi typing with 30 w.p.m. speed.
Skill Test norms on Computer:
Hindi typing @ 30 w.p.m.
Desirable:
1) Adequate knowledge in computer operations
2) Knowledge of English typing with 30 works per minute.
Age Limits: The age of the applicant should be between 18 to 27 years. However, usual age relaxation
will be admissible to SC/ST/OBC etc. as per Government Orders in force. (Relaxable for Government
servants upto 35 years in accordance with the instructions or orders issued by the Central Government
from time to time).
