पररजनयम, 1966 म ेंपुनः संिोधन करने हते ु जनम्नजलजखत संिोधन करता ह,ै अर्ायत ् :
1. (1) ये पररजनयम िवाहरलाल नेहरू जवश्वजवद्यालय (संिोधन) पररजनयम, 2026 कह ेिा सकेंगे।
(2) ये पररजनयम सरकारी रािपत्र में प्रकािन की जतजर् स ेप्रभावी होंगे।
2. िवाहरलाल नेहरू जवश्वजवद्यालय अजधजनयम/पररजनयम, 1966 म ें पररजनयम 13 (कायय पररषि) को जनम्नानुसार
पढा िाएगा:

13 (1) कायय पररषि म ेंजनम्नजलजखत सिस्ट्य होंगे; अर्ायत्
(i) कुलपजत, पिने;
(ii) (क) कुलिेजिक, पिेन;
(ख) सजचव(उच्चतर जिक्षा), जिक्षा मत्रं ालय, भारत सरकार या उनके नाजमती, पिेन;
(iii) डीन (छात्र), पिेन;
(iv) आठ अध्ययन स्ट्कूलों के डीन से अनजधक जिन्ह ेंजनम्नानुसार नाजमत दकया िाए:
(क) अंतरराष्ट्रीय अध्ययन संस्ट्र्ान, सामाजिक जवज्ञान संस्ट्र्ान, भाषा, साजहत्य एवं
संस्ट्कृजत अध्ययन संस्ट्र्ान, िीवन जवज्ञान संस्ट्र्ान तर्ा इंिीजनयरी संस्ट्र्ान के
पांच डीन कायय पररषि के पिेन सिस्ट्य होंगे।
(ख) जनम्नजलजखत छह स्ट्कूलों म ेंसे वररष्ठता के क्रम में रोटेिन के आधार पर नाजमत िो डीन:
कला एवं सौंिययिास्त्र संस्ट्र्ान; कंप्यूटर एवं जसस्ट्टम्स जवज्ञान संस्ट्र्ान; पयायवरण जवज्ञान
संस्ट्र्ान; भौजतक जवज्ञान संस्ट्र्ान; सूचना प्रौद्योजगकी संस्ट्र्ान (अब, सगं णकीय एव ं
समेदकत जवज्ञान संस्ट्र्ान) तर्ा िैवप्रौद्योजगकी संस्ट्र्ान।
(ग) जनम्नजलजखत िो स्ट्कूलों में से वररष्ठता के क्रम म ेंरोटेिन के आधार पर नाजमत एक डीन:
प्रबंधन तर्ा उद्यजमता संस्ट्र्ान (अब, अटल जबहारी वािपेयी प्रबंधन तर्ा उद्यजमता
संस्ट्र्ान) तर्ा संस्ट्कृत एवं प्राच्यजवद्या अध्ययन संस्ट्र्ान।
(iv क) एक जविेष केंद्राध्यक्ष, वररष्ठता के क्रम में रोटेिन द्वारा।
(v) कुलाध्यक्ष द्वारा नाजमत चार व्यजि;
(vi) जवश्वजवद्यालय के तीन जिक्षक – एक प्रोफेसर/वररष्ठ फेलो, एक एसोजसएट प्रोफेसर/फेलो तर्ा
एक सहायक प्रोफेसर – जिन्ह ें जवश्वजवद्यालय द्वारा जनधायररत जनयमों के अनुसार प्रत्यक्ष चुनाव
द्वारा संबंजधत श्रेजणयों से चुना िाएगा।
परन्त ु ित य यह ह ै दक कुलिेजिक एवं डीन पि पर काययरत जिक्षक इस चुनाव के जलए पात्र नहीं
होंगे।
(vii) कुलाध्यक्ष द्वारा नाजमत कोटय के तीन सिस्ट्य, जिनमें से कोई भी जवश्वजवद्यालय या उससे
संबद्ध/मान्यताप्राप्त संस्ट्र्ान का कमयचारी नहीं होगा;
(viii) जवश्वजवद्यालय द्वारा मान्यताप्राप्त या इससे संबद्ध संस्ट्र्ानों के प्रमुखों की संख्या िो कुलाध्यक्ष
द्वारा समय-समय पर जनधायररत की िाए तर्ा उनके द्वारा नाजमत की िाए;
परन्तु ितय यह ह ै दक उच्च जिक्षा एवं िोध से संबंजधत संस्ट्र्ाओं से िो व्यजियों से अनजधक िो
कुलाध्यक्ष द्वारा 17 िुलाई 1972 से िो वष य की अवजध के जलए नाजमत दकए िाएँ।
(2) कायय पररषि के सिस्ट्यों की पिावजध िो वषय होगी।
परन्त ु ितय यह ह ै दक खडं (1) की मि संख्या (vi) एव ं (vii) म ें उजल्लजखत सिस्ट्य क्रमिः डीन एवं कोटय के

(3) कायय पररषि के सिस्ट्यों का काययकाल जनयुजि या नामांकन की जतजर्, यर्ाजस्ट्र्जत, से प्रारंभ होगा।
(4) कायय पररषि के एक-जतहाई सिस्ट्य गणपूर्त य (कोरम) का गठन करेंगें।

In exercise of the powers conferred by Act/Statute 16 of the Jawaharlal Nehru University Act 1966 (53 of 1966),
the Executive Council, with the approval of the Visitor, hereby make the following amendments further to amend the
Jawaharlal Nehru University Statutes 1966, namely: -
1. (1) These Statues may be called the Jawaharlal Nehru University (Amendment) Statutes, 2026.
(2) They shall come force on the date of their publication in the official Gazette.
2. In the Jawaharlal Nehru University Act/Statute, 1966, Statute 13 (Executive Council) shall be read as under: -
13 (1) The Executive Council shall consist of the following members namely:-
(i) The Vice-Chancellor, ex-officio;
(ii) (a) The Rector, ex-officio;
(b) The Secretary (Higher Education), Ministry of Education, Government of India or
his/her nominee, ex-officio;

(iv) "Not more than Eight Deans of Schools of Studies to be nominated as under: -
(a) Five Deans belonging to School of International Studies, School of Social Sciences,
School of Language, Literature and Culture Studies, School of Life Sciences and
School of Engineering will be the ex-officio members of the Executive Council”.
(b) Two Deans from amongst the following six Schools, to be nominated by rotation,
in order of seniority; School of Arts and Aesthetics; School of Computer and
Systems Sciences; School of Environmental Sciences; School of Physical Sciences;
School of Information Technology (now School of Computational and Integrative
Sciences) and School of Biotechnology".
(c) One Dean from the following two schools to be nominated by rotation in order of
seniority; School of Management and Entrepreneurship (now Atal Bihari Vajpayee
School of Management and Entrepreneurship) and School of Sanskrit and Indic
Studies.
(iv A) One Chairperson of the Special Centre by rotation, in order of seniority.
(v) Four persons nominated by the Visitor;
(vi) Three teachers of the University i.e. one Professor/ Sr.Fellow, One Associate
Professor/Fellow and One Assistant Professor elected by and from amongst the respective
categories of teachers through direct elections in accordance with the rules laid down by the
University.
Provided further that the faculty members holding the position of Rector, Dean will not be
eligible for election.
(vii) Three members of the Court, nominated by the Visitor, none of whom shall be an employee
of the University or an institution recognised by or associated with the University;
(viii) Such number of Heads of institutions recognised by, or associated with, the University, as
may be determined by the Visitor from time to time and nominated by him:
Provided that not more than two persons who are associated with institutions of higher
learning and research may be nominated by the Visitor for a period of two years from 17th
July, 1972.
(2) The members of the Executive Council shall hold office for a term of two years:
Provided that the members referred to in items (vi) and (vii) of clause (1) shall cease to be members
of the Executive Council when they cease to be Deans and members of the Court respectively:
Provided further that the members referred to in items (vi) and (vii) of Clause (1) who are nominated
in 1972 shall cease to be such members of the Executive Council, if -
(i) the Court and the Academic Council are constituted in terms of Statutes 11 and 15
respectively, and
(ii) all the following seven Schools of Studies begin to function before the 16th July, 1974,
namely:
(a) The School of Social Sciences
(b) The School of International Studies
(c) The School of Life Sciences
(d) The School of Languages (now School of Language, Literature and Culture Studies)
(e) The School of Computer and Systems Sciences
(f) The School of Environmental Sciences.

(3) The term of office of the members of the Executive Council shall commence from the date of
appointment, or nomination, as the case may be.
(4) One third of the members of the Executive Council shall form the quorum.
