New Delhi, the 3rd October, 2018
No. Legal 42(3)/87.—In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (b) of sub-section (1) of Section 12 and 13
read with clause 1 of the Notification No.145 E, dated 21st February, 1991, issued under 23 of the Environment
(Protection) Act, 1986 (29 of 1986), the Central Pollution Control Board, Parivesh Bhawan, East Arjun Nagar, Delhi-
110032 hereby recognize, (a) the Laboratories specified in column (2) of the Table below as ‘Environmental
Laboratories’ to conduct the functions entrusted to the Environmental laboratories under the said Act, and the rules made
thereunder and (b) specified persons in column (3) of the table as the Government Analysts for the purpose of analysis of
samples of Air, Water, or other substances sent for analysis, specified for respective groups of parameters mentioned in
column (4). After Sr. No.173 of the Notification No. Legal/42(3)/87, dated 08th February, 2018, and the entries relating
thereto, the following serial no. and entries shall be added namely:

(B) Corrigendum (I)

This Notification dated 11th December 2015 was published in the Gazette of India Extraordinary Part III No.94 dated 11th
December 2015 and the validity of recognition of Laboratories Notified was for 5years from the date of Notification i.e.
upto 10th December 2020.
Now in the aforesaid Notification due to superannuation of Shri J.S.Kamyotra, Dr.C.S.Sharma, Dr D.Saha, Dr.S.K.Tyagi,
Dr (Mrs) P.Akolkar (Sr No.1 to 5 respectively of column 3 above) & transfer of Dr P.K.Behera (Sr. No. 8 of column 3
above) these entries have been deleted. The name of Shri B.K.Jakhmola Scientist ‘E’ and Shri N.C.Durgapal Scientist ‘E’
in the above table will remain and the same is rearranged at Sr.No.1 and 2 in the table below. The name of substituted,
additional Govt. Analysts as in column 3 of table below at Sr.No.3 to 10 have been inserted at column 3 of Gazette
Notification No. Legal 42 (3)/ 87 dated 11.12.2015 for the purpose of analysis of samples of air, water, or other
substances sent for analysis, specified for respective groups of parameters mentioned in column (4):

This Notification, dated 7.3.2016 was published in the Gazette of India Extraordinary Part –III No.272, dated 7.3.2016
and the validity of recognition of laboratory notified is for 5 years from date of Notification i.e. upto 6.3.2021.
Now in the aforesaid Notification, due to superannuation of Mr. R.N.Deva Sarma (Sr No.1 of column 3 above) and
transfer of Mr. A.C.Sarmah (Sr No.02 of Column 3 above) these entries have been deleted and the names of substitutes
Govt Analysts as in column 4 of Table below have been inserted at column 3 of Gazette Notification No. Legal 42(3)/87
dated 07.03.2016.
