MINISTRY OF RAILWAYS (RAILWAY BOARD) NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 12th March, 2020 G.S.R. 168(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (g) of sub-section (2) of section 60, read with section 198 of the Railways Act, 1989 (24 of 1989), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Indian Railways (Open Lines) General Rules, 1976, namely:—[भाग II—खण् ड 3(i)] भारत का रािपत्र : असाधारण 3 1. Short title and commencement.—(1) These rules may be called the Indian Railways (Open Lines) General Amendment Rules, 2020. (2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. 2. In the Indian Railways (Open Lines) General Rules, 1976, in rule 4.10 for sub-rule (1), the following sub-rule shall be substituted, namely:- “(1) The speed of trains over non-interlocked facing points shall not exceed 30 kilometres an hour in any circumstances and the speed over turn-outs and crossovers shall not exceed its permissible speed or 30 kilometres an hour whichever is less, unless otherwise prescribed by approved special instructions, which may permit a higher speed.” [F.
