MINISTRY OF RAILWAYS (RAILWAY BOARD) NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 16th August, 2019 G.S.R. 575(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by clauses (c), (e), (f) and (g) of sub-section (2) of section 30 of the Railway Claims Tribunal Act, 1987 (54 of 1987), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Railway Claims Tribunal (Procedure) Rules, 1989, namely :- 1. Short title and commencement.—(1) These rules may be called the Railway Claims Tribunal (Procedure) Amendment Rules, 2019. (2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. 2. In the Railway Claims Tribunal (Procedure) Rules, 1989 (hereinafter referred to as said rules) in rule 5 for sub-rule(2) the following sub-rule shall be substituted, namely:-¹Hkkx IIµ[k.M 3(i)º Hkkjr dk jkti=k % vlk/kj.k 3 “(2) An application referred to sub-rule (1) may also be sent by registered post or electronic mail to the office of the Registrar or the Additional Registrar or the Assistant Registrar, as the case may be, of the Bench concerned”. 3. In the said rules, in rule 5, for sub-rule(2A) the following sub-rule shall be substituted, namely:- “(2A) An application sent by post or electronic mail under sub-rule (2) shall be deemed to have been received on the day when the application is received by the Registrar, Additional Registrar or the Assistant Registrar, as the case may be”. 4. In the said rules, in rule 5, after sub-rule (3) the following sub-rule shall be inserted, namely:- “(3A) The application sent by email by the applicant shall also make available hardcopies of the application along with originals or duly certified true copies of originals of enclosures relied by the applicant by registered post to the Registrar, Additional Registrar or the Assistant Registrar”.
