द्वारा प्रदत्त िजतत यों का प्रयोग करते ए ए मोटरयान (चालन) जवजनयम, 2017 का संिोधन करने के जलए
जनम् नजलजखत जनयम बनाती ह, अथागत् :-
1. सजं िप्त नाम और प्रारंभ.- (1) इन जनयमों का संजिप्त नाम मोटर यान (चालन)(संिोधन) जवजनयम, 2020
ह ।
(2) ये 1 अत तूबर, 2020 स े प्रवृत्त हों गे ।
2. मोटरयान (चालन) जवजनयम, 2017 (जिसे इसमें इसके पश्च ात् उत त जवजनयम कहा गया ह) के जवजनयम 37
में उपजवजनयम (1) के पश्च ात् जनम् नजलजखत परंतकक अंत:स्ट्थ ाजपत दकया िाएगा, अथागत :--
“परंतक इसका उपयोग यान के डिे बोड ग पर यकजतत को जनयत करके केवल मागग पथ प्रदिगन के जलए ऐसी रीजत म ें
होगा दक इसस े यान चलाते समय चालक की एकाग्रता भगं न हो ।” ।
3. उत त जवजनयम के जवजनयम 38 म,ें --

(क) उपजवजनयम (1) में, “मूल दस्ट् तावेिों ” िब् दों के स्ट्थ ान पर “भौजतक या इलत राजनक मेप में दस्ट् तावेिों ” िब् द
रखे िाएगं े ;
(ख) उपजवजनयम (1) में, “उसके साथ हमेिा रखेगा” िब् दों के पश्च ात ् “भौजतक या इल त राजनक मेप में दस्ट् तावेिों ”
िब् द अंत:स्ट् थाजपत दकए िाएगं े ;
(ग) उपजवजनयम (4) के पश्च ात् जनम् नजलजखत उपजनयम अंत:स्ट् थाजपत दकया िाएगा, अथागत् :--
“(5) दकसी वदीधारी पकजलस अजधकारी या इस संबंध में राज् य सरकार द्वारा प्राजधकृत दकसी अन्द य अजधकारी द्वारा
उपरोतत जन्द् ट इल त राजनक प्रमेप में दस्ट् तावेिों के जनरीिण के पश्च ात् यदद दस्ट्त ावेिों का जवजधमान्द य और
प्रवृतन में होना पाता ह , तब ऐसे दस्ट् तावेिों को जनरीिण के जलए भौजतक मेप में नहीं मांगा िाएगा, जिसके
अंतगगत ऐसे मामले भी ह िहां दकए गए दकसी अपराध के जलए दकन्द ही ऐसे दस्ट् तावेिों का अजभग्रहण की आवश् यक

NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 25th September,, 2020
G.S.R. 586(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by section 118 of the Motor Vehicles Act,
1988 (59 of 1988), the Central Government hereby makes the following regulations to amend the Motor
Vehicles (Driving) Regulations, 2017, namely:
1. Short title and commencement. — (1) These regulations may be called as the Motor Vehicles
(Driving) (Amendment) Regulations, 2020.
(2) These regulations shall come into force with effect from 1st October, 2020.
2. In the Motor Vehicles (Driving) Regulations, 2017 (hereinafter referred as the said regulations), in
regulation 37, after sub-regulation (1), the following proviso shall be inserted, namely: -
“Provided that such use is solely for route navigation by fixing the device on the
dashboard of the vehicle in such a manner that shall not disturb the concentration
of the driver while driving.”.
3. In the said regulations, in regulation 38, -
(a) in sub-regulation (1) for the words “documents in original” the words “documents in physical
or electronic form” shall be substituted;
(b) in sub-regulation (3) after the words “shall always carry with him” the words “in physical
or electronic form” shall be inserted;
(c) after sub-regulation (4), the following sub-regulation shall be inserted, namely: -[भाग II—खण् ड 3(ii)] भारत का रािपत्र : असाधारण 3
“(5) After inspection of the documents in electronic form, referred to above, by any police
officer in uniform or any other officer authorised by the State Government in this behalf, if
the documents are found to be valid and in force, then physical forms of such documents
shall not be demanded for inspection, including in cases where there is an offence made out
necessitating seizure of any such documents.”.
