(1) These rules may be called the Coffee Board (Cadre and Recruitment) Amendment Rules, 2017. (2) They shall come into force on the date of its publication in the Official Gazette. 2. In the Coffee Board (Cadre and Recruitment) Rules, 2014, (hereinafter referred to as the principal rules), for rule 2, the following rule shall be inserted, namely:- “(1) In these rules, unless the context otherwise requires,- (a) “Act” means the Coffee Act, 1942 (VII of 1942); (b) “Cadre” refers to classification of posts and the sanctioned strength of posts in each cadre from the notification of these rules and is as listed in Annexure-I to these rules; (c) “Competent Authority” means the Secretary of the Board; (d) “Executive Committee” means the Committee constituted as Executive Committee under the Act, amended from time to time; (e) “Government” means the Central Government; (f) “Schedule” means the Schedule annexed to these rules; (g) “Scientific”, “Technical” and “Non-Technical” – Administrative or Ministerial Posts means the posts classified as such in the Annexure-I, to these rules.
