(1) These rules may be called the Life Insurance Corporation of India (Staff) Amendment Rules, 2017. (2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. 2. In the Life Insurance Corporation of India (Staff) Rules, 1960 (hereinafter referred to as the said rules) in rule 19, in sub-rule (4), for the word “calculated” the words “subject to maximum of 240 days, calculated” shall be substituted.¹Hkkx IIµ[k.M 3(i)º Hkkjr dk jkti=k % vlk/kj.k 3 3. In rule 60B of the said rules, after clause (7), the following clause shall be inserted, namely:— “(8) Paternity Leave;”; 4. in rule 63 of the said rules,- (a) in sub-rule (2), for the figures and word “240 days”, the figures and word “270 days” shall be substituted; (b)(cid:32) in sub-rule (3), for the words “date of his death” the words “date of his death, subject to maximum of 240 days,” shall be substituted. 5. After rule 66 of the said rules, the following rule shall be inserted, namely:— “66A. Paternity Leave.— (1) The competent authority may grant to a male employee having less than two surviving children, paternity leave for a period of 15 days during the confinement of his wife. (2) The Paternity Leave may be combined with leave of any other kind except Casual Leave. (3) The Paternity Leave shall not be debited against the leave account. (4) The Paternity Leave shall be utilised by the employee within a period of six months from the date of delivery of the Child and may be applied within a period of 15 days before the expiry of the said period of six months. (5) An application for Paternity Leave which does not satisfy the requirements of sub-rule (4) shall be refused without assigning any reason.”. 6. In rule 69 of the said rules, in sub-rule (5), for the words “and Quarantine Leave” the words “Quarantine Leave and Paternity Leave” at both the places shall be substituted. 7. In Schedule IV to the said rules,— (i) in the entries under the first column relating to rules no. 61, 65, 66 & 68, for the figures and word “61, 65, 66 and 68”, the figures, letter and word “61, 65, 66, 66A and 68” shall be substituted; (ii) in the entries under the second column relating to heading “Nature of Power”, for the words “Quarantine leave”, the words “Quarantine leave, Paternity leave,” shall be substituted.
