NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 19th October, 2020
G.S.R. 662(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sections 6 and 25 of the Environment (Protection)
Act, 1986 (29 of 1986), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Environment
(Protection) Rules, 1986, namely:—
1. (1) These rules may be called the Environment (Protection) Amendment Rules, 2020.
(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
2. In the Environment (Protection) Rules, 1986, in Schedule – I, -
against S. No. 25, under the heading “TPPs (units) installed after 1st January, 2003, upto 31st December, 2016”, in
respect of Oxides of Nitrogen (NOx), for figure and letters “300 mg/Nm3” in column 4, the figure and letters
“450 mg/Nm3” shall be substituted.
