New Delhi, the 16th May, 2016
G.S.R. 521 (E).– In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 162 and clause (z)
of sub-section (2) of section 176 of the Electricity Act, 2003, (36 of 2003), the Central Government hereby
makes the following amendments to the Qualifications, Powers and Functions of Chief Electrical Inspector
and Electrical Inspectors Rules, 2006, namely:-
1. (1) These rules may be called the Qualifications, Powers and Functions of Chief Electrical Inspector
and Electrical Inspectors (Amendment) Rules, 2016.
(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
2. In the Qualifications, Powers and Functions of Chief Electrical Inspector and Electrical Inspectors
Rules, 2006, in rule 5, in sub rule (1), in clause (b), for the words “at least ten years”, the words “at least five
years” shall be substituted.
