NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 12th November, 2018
S.O. 5796 (E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section(1) of section 162 of the Electricity
Act, 2003 (36 of 2003) read with Qualifications, Powers and Functions for Chief Electrical Inspector and
Electrical Inspectors Rules, 2006 notified on 17.8.2006 and as amended on 16.05.2016, the Central
Government hereby appoints Smt. Neelam Chandra, General Manager (Electrical), Maha-Metro as Chief
Electrical Inspector for Pune Metro Rail Project, from the date of this Notification till her tenure in
Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (Maha-Metro), subject to fulfilment of the qualification and
Condition mentioned in the above Rule.
The above mentioned officer shall exercise the powers and perform her functions in respect of electrical
works, electrical installations and electrical rolling stock in operation within the areas occupied by the Pune
Metro Rail Project or in respect of works and all electrical installations under the control of Pune Metro Rail
Project/belonging to Pune Metro Rail Project as per the procedure provided in Central Electricity Authority
(Measures relating to Safety and Electricity Supply) Regulations, 2010, as amended from time to time.
Pune Metro Rail Project will ensure that Smt. Neelam Chandra will not be the Chief Electrical Inspector in
respect of the work assigned to her as General Manager (Electrical) in Pune Metro Rail Project.
The person appointed as Electrical Inspector shall undergo such training as the Central Government may
consider necessary for the purpose and such training shall be completed to the satisfaction of the Government.
