This notification, S.O. 4706(E), issued by the Ministry of Power on December 27, 2019, appoints officers of the Central Electricity Authority (CEA) as Electrical Inspectors for CEA. 3. **Shri Rakesh Goyal,** Director, CEI Division, appointed as Electrical Inspector.
These officers are authorized to exercise powers and perform functions related to electrical works, installations, and rolling stock within the jurisdiction of CEA, following the procedures outlined in the Central Electricity Authority (Measures relating to Safety and Electricity Supply) Regulations, 2010, as amended. The CEA is responsible for ensuring that these officers do not serve as Electrical Inspectors for work assigned to them in their respective areas. Appointed Electrical Inspectors are required to undergo and satisfactorily complete any training deemed necessary by the Central Government.

NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 27th December, 2019
S.O. 4706(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 162 of the
Electricity Act, 2003 (36 of 2003) read with Qualification, Power and Function of Chief Electrical
Inspector and Electrical Inspectors Rules, 2006 notified on 17.8.2006 and as amended on
16.05.2016, the Central Government hereby appoints the following officers of Central Electricity
Authority as Electrical Inspector for CEA, in their respective RIO (E), RIO (E) and CEI Division
from the date of this Notification till their tenure in CEA, subject to fulfilment of the qualification
and condition mentioned in the above Rule:

The above mentioned officers shall exercise the powers and perform his functions in respect
of electrical works, electrical installations and electrical rolling stock in operation within the
jurisdiction of CEA, as per the procedure provided in Central Electricity Authority (Measures
relating to Safety and Electricity Supply) Regulations, 2010, as amended from time to time.
CEA will ensure that above said officers will not be the Electrical Inspectors in respect of the
work assigned to them in their respective area.
The officers appointed as Electrical Inspector shall undergo such training as the Central
Government may consider necessary for the purpose and such training shall be completed to the
satisfaction of the Government.
