NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 28th June, 2019
S.O. 2299(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 162 of the
Electricity Act, 2003 (36 of 2003) read with Qualifications, Powers and Functions for Chief Electrical
Inspector and Electrical Inspectors Rules, 2006 notified on 17.08.2006 and as amended on 16.05.2016, the
Central Government hereby appoints Sh. Rajesh Patil, Executive Director (Electrical), Maha Metro as Chief
Electrical Inspector for Nagpur Metro Rail Project of Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (Maha Metro)
from the date of this Notification till his tenure in Maha Metro, subject to fulfilment of the Qualification and
Condition mentioned in the above Rule. Sh. Rajesh Patil is appointed in place of Sh. Janak Kumar Garg,
Executive Director (Rolling Stock), Nagpur Metro Rail Project, who has been relieved after his appointment
as Commissioner of Metro Railway Safety (CMRS).
The above mentioned officer shall exercise the powers and perform his functions in respect of
electrical works, electrical installations and electrical rolling stock in operation within the areas occupied by
the Nagpur Metro Rail Project of Maha Metro or in respect of works and all electrical installations under the
control of Nagpur Metro Rail Project of Maha Metro/belonging to Nagpur Metro Rail Project of Maha Metro
as per the procedure provided in Central Electricity Authority (Measures relating to Safety and Electricity
Supply) Regulations, 2010, as amended from time to time.
Nagpur Metro Rail Project of Maha Metro will ensure that Sh. Rajesh Patil will not be the Chief
Electrical Inspector in respect of the work assigned to him as Executive Director (Electrical) in Nagpur Metro
Rail Project of Maha Metro.
The person appointed as Electrical Inspector shall undergo such training as the Central Government
may consider necessary for the purpose and such training shall be completed to the satisfaction of the
Government.
