(ii) Dimensions/load restrictions on various roads stipulated by the Public Works Department/Local Authorities/National Highway Authority of India will be observed and permission of such authorities will be obtained every time the vehicles are put on the roads. Each of such movement of the combination will be approved and closely monitored by the concerned road authorities in State/Union Territory/National Highway Authority of India from Safety point of view. (iii) The combination should display all danger flags and lights, preferably the vehicles should be preceded and followed by a vehicle displaying prominently that a heavy load is passing. (iv) Coupling of the trailers along side by side the width of the road shall not be permitted. (v) The program of the movement of the combination should be intimated at least ten days in advance to the Executive Engineers concerned and their clearance obtained. (vi) If so directed by the Public works Department of a State/Union Territory/National Highway Authority of India, the over dimensional/over loaded vehicles will not be allowed to pass over the bridges on the roads in that State/Union Territory and in such cases applicants will have to make their own arrangements to cross the rivers/drains. (vii) They would need to obtain permission each and every time before moving on a particular route from concerned State or Union Territory Authorities/National Highway Authority of India enroot, in view of the oversized cargo. For each such movement, the timing should be prescribed by the concerned authority. (viii) They would adhere to the speed limits prescribed by the authorities in State/Union Territory/National Highway Authority of India. (ix) The said combinations should be moved without any hindrance to the normal flow of traffic. (x) The maximum speed of the combination for movement on the road shall not exceed 10 kms/hour. (xi) The combinations shall be painted for the entire width by yellow and black zebra strips on the front and rear sides duly marked for night time driving/parking suitably by red lamps at the front and rear and red flags on both the sides during day time to indicate the extreme position of the combination clearly. In addition the entire overhang shall be covered with a red reflector/reflective tape to facilitate clear vision of overhang at night time. Ltd, Chennai have been tested as per Para 6.0 above. Performance of these trailers under limited technical trials found satisfactory. During the course of the trials, no major defect or malfunctioning of system/sub system observed. NOTE: i) Performance of the Hydraulic modular Trailer confirmed to the loading condition specified above However, the manufacturer/transporter is responsible for safe transport of goods/special purpose equipments on Road. They should take necessary precaution for transport of Over Weight Consignments (OWCs)/Over Dimension Consignments (ODCs) of equipments. ii) National Highway Authority of India, PWD, R&B and State authorities shall check the loading of each axle as per this report before clearing the Trailer for movement. Each tyre loading also shall be checked & shall not exceed the limits mentioned in the report. iii) It is recommended to apply UDL on the loading platform. iv) The Payload shall not be more than 36000 kg at trailer axles under any combination & circumstances irrespective of its loading pattern. v) The Trailer speed should not exceed 10 km/h. i) The test sample was not collected from production lot. ii) This test report contains the test results of the particular sample of Vehicle/Systems/Components, submitted and the specific tests carried out as detailed in this report and shall NOT be interpreted as an endorsement by VRDE, of the Continuing quality, or Performance of any other items of the same or similar design. iii) VRDE is not responsible directly/indirectly for the quality of production lots being manufactured by the firm. iv) VRDE has the right to initiate cancellation/withdrawal of the report issued in case of any fraud, misrepresentation, when it comes in the knowledge of VRDE. v) The contents of this report shall neither be reproduced in whole or part not interpreted and used for commercial purposes without the written approval of the DIRECTOR, VRDE, VAHAN NAGAR, AHMEDNAGAR – 414 006.
