NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 11th May, 2017
S. O. 1516(E).— In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (3) of section 4 of the Tea Act,
1953 (29 of 1953), read with rules 4 and 5 of the Tea Rules, 1954, the Central Government hereby appoints
the following persons as Chairman and member of the Tea Board, with effect from the date of publication of
this notification in the Official Gazette upto the 1st day of November, 2018 or until further orders, whichever
is earlier, and direct that the following further amendments shall be made in the notification of the
Government of India, in the erstwhile Ministry of Commerce and Industry (Tea Control), number S.R.O. 944,
dated the 17th March, 1954, namely:-
In the said notification,-
(i) for serial number 1 and the entries relating thereto, the following serial number and entries
shall be substituted, namely:-
“1. Shri Prabhat Kamal Bezboruah, Chairman appointed under sub-rule (1) of rule 4.”;

Kolkata-700017, West Bengal.
(ii) for serial number 26 and the entries relating thereto, the following serial number and entries
shall be substituted, namely:-
“26. Vacant Member representing manufacturer of tea under
clause (f) of sub-rule (1) of rule 4.”.
