NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 13th June, 2016
S.O. 2145(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (4) of section 15 of the Oil
Industry (Development) Act, 1974 (47 of 1974), read with Section 5A of Central Excise Act, 1944 (1 of 1944),
and in supersession of the notification of Government of India of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas,
number S.O. 869(E), dated 19th April, 2012, except as respect things done or omitted to be done before such
supersession, the Central Government, on being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest to do so,
hereby exempts the duty of excise on crude oil production from the fields under the Production Sharing
Contracts as mentioned in the column (2) of the table below to the extent of difference between the
ad-valorem rate computed in accordance with the notification 1259(E) dated 28.03.2016 and Rupees Nine
Hundred per metric tonne stipulated in the Production Sharing Contracts (PSCs).
