(v) िररष्ठता के आधार पर रोटेिन के अनुसार चार जिद्यापीठों के डीन, जिन्ह ें कुलपजत द्वारा नाजमत ककया
िाएगा।
(vi) डीन के अलािा िररष्ठता के आधार पर रोटेिन के अनुसार एक प्रोफेसर, जिन्ह ें कुलपजत द्वारा नाजमत
ककया िाएगा।
(vii) िररष्ठता के आधार पर रोटेिन के अनुसार एक सह प्राध्यापक, जिन्ह ें कुलपजत द्वारा नाजमत ककया
िाएगा।
(viii) न्यायालय के दो सदस्ट्य, जिन्ह ें कुलाध्यक्ष द्वारा नाजमत ककया िाएगा, जिनम ें से कोई भी
विश्िविद्यालय
या से संबद्ध या मान्यता प्राप्त महाजिद्यालय या संस्ट्र्ान के कमयचारी नहीं होगा।

NOTIFICATION
Gangtok, the 23rd May, 2025
F.No. SU/REG/F-1/06/2018/Vol. I/138 —In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-sections (2), (3) and
(4) of Section 29 of the Sikkim University Act, 2006, the Executive Council, with the approval of the Visitor, hereby
makes the following amendments further to amend the Sikkim University Act, 2006, namely: —
1. These Statutes may be called as the Sikkim University (Amendment) Statutes, 2025.
2. Statute 11(1) of the Sikkim University Act on the constitution of the Executive Council of Sikkim
University shall have the following provisions as under:
11 (1) The Executive Council shall consist of the following members, namely.
(i) Vice Chancellor, ex-officio Chairman
(ii) Pro Vice Chancellor or Rector, ex-officio member
(iii) Secretary (Higher Education), Ministry of Education, Government of India or his/her nominee,
ex-officio member
(iv) Deans of the Students, ex-officio member
(v) Four Deans of Schools by rotation according to seniority, to be nominated by the Vice
Chancellor.
(vi) One Professor, other than a Dean by rotation according to seniority, to be nominated by the Vice
Chancellor.
(vii) One Associate Professor by rotation according to seniority, to be nominated by the Vice
Chancellor.
(viii) Two members of the Court, to be nominated by the Visitor, none of whom shall be an employee
of the University or a college or an institution affiliated to or recognized by the University.
(ix) One representative from the University Grants Commission

(xi) Five persons to be nominated by the Visitor on the recommendation of the Vice Chancellor of
which one will be the Secretary, Department of Human Resources Development, Government of
Sikkim.
The Registrar of the University shall be the ex-officio Secretary to the Executive Council.
11 (2) All the members of the Executive Council, other than ex-officio members, shall hold office for a term
of three years.
