Notification 2 (S.O. 897E): Amendment to Prior Notification
* Amends notification S.O. 689E, dated April 4, 2011, which originally substituted the Schedule to the National Highways Act, 1956.
* Replaces the entries for serial numbers 423 and 407 in the Schedule with new descriptions of National Highways in Tamil Nadu:
* **Serial No 423:** The highway starting from Pandian Hotel Junction in Madurai near NH85 connecting Naganagulam, Ayyar, Bungalow, Oomachikulam, Vembarali, Vathipatti, Chatthirapatti, Chinnapatti, Nattam and terminating at its junction with NH38 near Tovarankurichchi in the State of Tamil Nadu, becomes NH785 Extn.

New Delhi, the 1st March, 2018
S.O. 896(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of section 2 of the National Highways
Act, 1956 (48 of 1956), the Central Government hereby declares each of the highways specified in columns (2) and (3) of
the Table below to be a national highway.
The said highways, now declared to be national highways, shall be deemed to be specified in the Schedule to the
said Act with the new serial numbers, the new national highways numbers and the description of the national highways
thereof, as indicated in columns (1), (2) and (3) respectively, of the said Table.
