G.S.R. 893(E).— In exercise of the powers conferred under rules 3.1.1 vide notification no. G.S.R. 85(E) dated
20th February, 1991, notifying the scheme on “Labelling of Environment Friendly Products”, the Central
Government hereby lays down the Ecomark criteria for Coir & Coir Products as under:

required under the rules notified under the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986 as applicable, and the rules made
there under, to BIS while applying for Ecomark.
1.3 The product(s) or product packaging(s) may display in brief the criteria based on which the products has/have been
labelled environment friendly.
1.4 The material used for product packaging(s) shall be recyclable, reusable or biodegradable.
