No. 18-05/13998-INC.—In exercise of the powers conferred under Section 14 of Indian Nursing Council Act, 1947 (XLVIII of 1947), the Indian Nursing Council hereby issues the following order:— Whereas, GNM Nursing Institute situated at Sadar Hospital, Banka 813102 Bihar was recognized by State Government of Bihar and Bihar Nurses & Registration Council to conduct GNM Course. Whereas, a notice no. 18-05/13998-INC dated 19/10/2022 for withdrawal of Recognition under section 14 of Indian Nursing Council Act, 1947 addressed to Principal Secretary (H&FW) Department of Health, Government of Bihar, Vikas Bhawan, New Secretariat, Bihar was issued. Copy of the notice dated 19/10/2022 was also enclosed GNM Nursing Institute situated at Sadar Hospital, Banka 813102 Bihar. In the notice issued, the State Government was requested to submit their recommendations to the Council as respects Suitability of the nursing institution. Whereas, the Council has not received any recommendation from the State Government as respects the case of GNM Nursing Institute. Even the institution GNM Nursing Institute has not responded to the notices issued. Whereas, the Council has considered the matter in its entirety. Perusal of the inspection report dated 01/04/2022 would show that the institution is deficient in many respects especially those relating to deficiencies i.e., clinical and teaching facilities. These are serious deficiencies which constitute that the institution is unable to run GNM Course. Now therefore, the Council exercising powers under section 14(3)(b) of Indian Nursing Council Act, 1947 declares that with effect from 23/02/2023 any person holding a recognized qualification of GNM from GNM Nursing Institute situated at Sadar Hospital, Banka 813102 Bihar shall be entitled to be registered only in the State of Bihar subject to orders of state government of Bihar.
