No. 18-24/14776-INC.—In exercise of the powers conferred under Section 14 of Indian Nursing Council Act, 1947 (XLVIII of 1947), the Indian Nursing Council hereby issues the following order:— Whereas Rourkela Institute of Nursing situated at Mahaiapalli, PO – Beldihi, Rourkela, District Sundargarh - 770031, Odisha is recognized by State Government of Odisha and Odisha Nurses & Midwives Council to conduct GNM Course. Whereas, a notice no. 18-24/14776-INC dated 31/08/2022 for withdrawal of Recognition under section 14 of Indian Nursing Council Act, 1947 addressed to The Principal Secretary (Health & FW) Department of Health & Family Welfare, Government of Odisha, Secretariat Building, Bhubaneswar – 751001, Odisha was issued. Copy of the notice dated 31/08/2022 was also enclosed to Rourkela Institute of Nursing situated at Mahaiapalli, PO – Beldihi, Rourkela, District Sundargarh - 770031, Odisha. In the notice issued, the State Government was requested to submit their recommendations to the Council as respects Suitability of the nursing institution. Whereas, the Council has not received any recommendation from the State Government as respects the case of Rourkela Institute of Nursing, Odisha. Even the institution Rourkela Institute of Nursing has not responded to the notices issued. Whereas, the Council has considered the matter in its entirety. Perusal of the inspection report dated 10/12/2021 would show that the institution is deficient in many respects especially those relating to deficiencies i.e., clinical and teaching facilities. Now therefore, the Council exercising powers under section 14(3)(b) of Indian Nursing Council Act, 1947 declares that with effect from 16/11/2022 any person holding a recognized qualification of GNM Rourkela Institute of Nursing situated at Mahaiapalli, PO – Beldihi, Rourkela, District Sundargarh - 770031, Odisha shall be entitled to be registered only in the State of Odisha subject to the orders of State government of Odisha.
