INDIAN NURSING COUNCIL
WITHDRAWAL ORDER
New Delhi, the 17th July, 2026.
F.No. 18-14/Govt./2024 - INC.— In exercise of the powers conferred under Section 14 of the Indian
Nursing Council Act, 1947 (XLVIII of 1947), the Indian Nursing Council hereby issues the following order:—
Whereas, the following institutions located in the State of Jammu & Kashmir were recognized by the State
Government and the Jammu & Kashmir Nurses & Midwives Council to conduct nursing courses.
Whereas, a notice no. 18-14/Govt./2024 - INC (65287) dated 26.11.2024 for withdrawal of recognition
under Section 14 of the Indian Nursing Council Act, 1947, was issued to Secretary (Health & Medical Education),
Health & Medical Education Department, Govt. of Jammu & Kashmir, Room No. 108 Civil Secretariat Srinagar -
180001 Jammu & Kashmir. A copy of the notice dated 26.11.2024 was also sent to the Jammu & Kashmir Nurses &
Midwives Council. In the notice issued, the State Government was requested to submit its recommendations to the
Council regarding the suitability of the nursing institutions.
Whereas, the Council has not received any remarks or recommendation from the State Government or the
Jammu & Kashmir Nurses & Midwives Council regarding the suitability of the below-mentioned institutions.
Whereas, the Council has considered the matter in its entirety. The Indian Nursing Council records show that
these institutions have failed to apply for statutory inspection for several years and were found deficient/unsuitable for
conducting nursing programmes.
Now therefore, the Council, exercising powers under Section 14(3)(b) of the Indian Nursing Council Act,
1947, hereby declares that with effect from 11.09.2025, any person holding a recognized qualification from the
following institutions shall be entitled to be registered only in the State of Jammu & Kashmir.
