NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 27th October, 2017
No. 05/2017-NARCOTICS CONTROL-I
G.S.R. 1331(E).—In pursuance of rule 8 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Rules,
1985, the Central Government hereby makes following amendment in the Government of India, Ministry of
Finance, Department of Revenue, Notification No. G.S.R. 1309(E) dated 18/10/2017 published in the Gazette
of India, Extraordinary, Part-II, Section-3, Sub-Section (i), namely:—
1. In the said Notification No. G.S.R. 1309(E) dated 18.10.2017, in Para 2, Sub-Para (i) shall be
substituted, namely:—
“(i) cultivators who had cultivated Opium Poppy during the crop year 2016-17 and tendered an
average yield of opium having not less than 56 kg/ hectare of opium in the state of Madhya
Pradesh, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.”
2. In the said Notification No. G.S.R. 1309(E) dated 18.10.2017, in Para 2 after Sub-Para (v), the
following shall be inserted, namely:—
“(vi) Cultivators who were eligible for grant of opium license in terms of Para 2A of Notification
No. 2/2016-Narcotics Control-I dated 20th October 2016, but could not/did not obtain license, or
could not sow the opium crop after obtaining the license, due to any reason during the crop year
2016-17”.
