This gazette notification, issued by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), announces the establishment of new Indian Standards and the withdrawal of some existing ones. It is in accordance with Rule 15(1) of the Bureau of Indian Standards Rules, 2018.

Key Changes
Seven new Indian Standards have been established effective October 19, 2024.
IS 3665:2024, relating to Involute Sided Splines, replaces IS 3665-1966, which will be withdrawn on April 19, 2025. Both standards will be in effect until April 19, 2025.
IS 9724 (Part 2): 2024, relating to Tape Male Stud Tee Body for Oil Hydraulic Couplings, replaces IS 9724 (Part II)-1981, which will be withdrawn on April 19, 2025. Both standards will be in effect until April 19, 2025.
Five new standards do not replace any existing standards and are effective from October 19, 2024. These are: IS 5920 (Part 3): 2024, IS 5920 (Part 13): 2024, IS 18442:2024, IS 18653 (Part 2): 2024 and IS 18696:2024.
