In pursuance of Sub rule 1 of Rule 15 of the Bureau of Indian Standards Rules, 2018, the Bureau of Indian Standards hereby notifies that Indian standards
The gazette notification issued by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) announces the establishment and withdrawal of certain Indian Standards. It specifies the dates on which new standards are established and the corresponding dates on which older standards are withdrawn. Some standards will remain in force concurrently for a limited time.
Key Changes
IS 4843:2024 (Code for Designation of Ferrous Castings, First Revision) was established on May 1, 2024, and replaces IS 4843-1968, which will be withdrawn on June 1, 2024.
IS 10959:2024 (Sealants for Building Purposes — Glossary of Terms, Second Revision) and ISO 6927:2021 were established on May 1, 2024, replacing IS 10959:2017 and ISO 6927:2012 respectively, which will be withdrawn on June 1, 2024.
IS 12459:2024 (Fire Safety in Cable Runs — Code of Practice, First Revision) was established on May 1, 2024, and replaces IS 12459-1988, which will be withdrawn on June 1, 2024.
IS 14191:2024 (Corrosion of Metals and Alloys — Corrosivity of Atmospheres, First Revision) and ISO 9223:2012 were established on May 1, 2024, replacing IS 14191:1996, which will be withdrawn on June 1, 2024.
IS 15820:2024 (Establishment and Operation of Assaying and Hallmarking Centres — General Requirements, First Revision) was established on May 1, 2024, and replaces IS 15820:2009, which will be withdrawn on November 1, 2024.
IS 17984 (Part 3): 2024 (Industrial Furnaces and Associated Processing Equipment — Safety, Part 3) and ISO 13577-3:2016 were established on May 1, 2024. There is no corresponding standard being withdrawn.
IS 18630 (Part 2): 2024 (Spices and Condiments — Fennel Seed, Whole or Ground, Part 2) and ISO 7927-2:2023 were established on May 1, 2024. There is no corresponding standard being withdrawn.
IS 18668:2024 (Stainless Steel Keg for Beer — Specification) was established on May 1, 2024. There is no corresponding standard being withdrawn.
