In pursuance of Sub rule 1 of Rule 15 of the Bureau of Indian Standards Rules, 2018, the Bureau of Indian Standards hereby notifies that Indian standards
The gazette notification issued by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) announces the establishment of new Indian Standards and the withdrawal of older standards. This notification is in pursuance of Sub-rule (1) of Rule (15) of the Bureau of Indian Standards Rules, 2018.
Key Changes
Four new Indian Standards have been established as of May 7, 2024.
IS 3926:2024 (Methyl Cinnamate — Specification, Second Revision) replaces IS 3926-1986 (Methyl Cinnamate — Specification, First Revision) and IS 3926-1986 will be withdrawn on August 7, 2024.
IS 4272:2024 (Vanillin — Specification, Second Revision) replaces IS 4272-1986 (Specification for Vanillin, First Revision) and IS 4272-1986 will be withdrawn on August 7, 2024.
IS 6053 (Part 1):2024 (Hand Tools for Footwear Industry — Specification Part 1 Upper Clicking Knife, First Revision) replaces IS 6053 (Part I)-1970 (Specification for Hand Tools for Footwear Industry Part I Upper Clicking Knife) and IS 6053 (Part I)-1970 will be withdrawn on August 7, 2024.
IS 10536:2024 (Castor Oleine and Castor Oleostearine — Specification, First Revision) replaces IS 10536-1983 (Specification for Castor Oleine and Castor Oleostearine) and IS 10536-1983 will be withdrawn on August 7, 2024.
The older standards (IS 3926-1986, IS 4272-1986, IS 6053 (Part I)-1970 and IS 10536-1983) will remain in force concurrently until August 7, 2024, after which they will be withdrawn.
