In pursuance of Subrule (1) of Rule (15) of the Bureau of Indian Standards Rules 2018 the Bureau of Indian Standards hereby notifies that Indian standards
This notification, issued by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), Department of Consumer Affairs on July 29, 2025, announces amendments to several Indian Standards. In pursuance of Subrule 1 of Rule 15 of the Bureau of Indian Standards Rules, 2018, the amendments, detailed in the attached schedule, have been established.
The schedule lists the following amendments:
1. **IS 2181: 2024:** Amendment No. 1 to "Sewing Machine Needles for Household Purposes Specification Second Revision." The amendment is established on July 24, 2025, and the standard without the amendment will remain in force until January 23, 2026.
2. **IS 16648 Part 5: 2017:** Amendment No. 2 to "Concentrated Solar Thermal Specification Part 5 Test Methods III 4." The amendment is established on July 24, 2025, and the standard without the amendment will remain in force until January 23, 2026.
3. **IS 17633: 2022:** Amendment No. 1 to "Tables and Desks Specification." The amendment is established on July 24, 2025, and the standard without the amendment will remain in force until January 23, 2026.
4. **IS 18573: 2024:** Amendment No. 1 to "Cold Formed Welded Carbon Steel Square and Rectangular Hollow Sections for Mechanical, General Engineering and Decorative Purposes Specification." The amendment is established on July 24, 2025, and the standard without the amendment will remain in force until January 23, 2026.
