2. सजमजत के काय व
इस सजमजत के कायव उपभोक्त ा मामल,े खाद्य और सार्वजजनक जर्तरण मंत्रालय और उसके प्रिासजनक
जनयंत्रणाधीन सभी अधीनर्ती कायावलयों को सरकारी कामकाज म ें जहन्द ी के प्रगामी प्रयोग स े संबंजधत जर्षयों तथा गृह
मंत्रालय (राजभाषा जर्भाग) द्वारा जनधावररत नीजत संबंधी ढांच ेके अतं गतव आन े र्ाले मामलों पर सलाह देना होगा।
3. कायकव ाल
इस सजमजत का कायवकाल इसके पुनगवठन की तारीख स ेतीन र्ष व तक होगा, परन्त ु –
(क) जो संसद सदस्ट् य सजमजत के सदस्ट् य ह,ैं र्े संसद सदस्ट् य न रहने पर इस सजमजत के सदस्ट् य भी नहीं रहगें े।
(ख) सजमजत के पदेन सदस्ट् य उस समय तक सदस्ट् य बने रहगें े जब तक दक र् े अपन-े अपन े उन पदों पर ह ैं जजनके
कारण र्े सजमजत के सदस्ट् य ह।ैं
(ग) यदद दकसी सदस्ट् य के त् याग पत्र देने, मृत् य ु आदद के कारण सजमजत में कोई स्ट् थान ररक्त होता ह ै तो उसके
स्ट् थान पर जनयुक्त दकया गया सदस्ट् य तीन र्षव के कायवकाल की िेष अर्जध के जलए सदस्ट् य रहगे ा।
4. सामान्य
सजमजत का प्रधान कायावलय नई ददल् ली म ें होगा, दकन् तु सजमजत अपनी बैठकें दकसी अन् य स्ट्थ ान पर भी कर सकती
ह।ै
5. यात्रा भत्त ा और अन्य भत्त े
सजमजत की बैठकों म ें भाग लने े के जलए गरै -सरकारी सदस्ट् यों को राजभाषा जर्भाग के ददनांक 22 जनर्री, 1987
के का0जा0 संख् या-।।/20034/4/86-रा. भा. (क-2) म ें जनजहत ददिा-जनदेिों के अनुरूप और भारत सरकार द्वारा समय-
समय पर यथासंिोजधत जनधावररत दरों एर् ं जनयमों के अनुसार यात्रा भत् ता ओर दैजनक भत् ता ददया जाएगा।

04 February, 2015 issued by the Ministry of the Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution of the Government of

II. Functions of Samiti
The Samiti would render advice to the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution and all
offices under its Administrative Control on matter relating to the progressive use of Hindi for official purpose and on
allied issues falling within the framework of the policy laid down by the Ministry of Home Affairs (Department of
Official language).
III. Tenure
The term of the Samiti will be three years from the date of its reconstitution provided that:
a) A member who is a Member of parliament ceases to be a member of the Samiti as long as he ceases
to be a Member of Parliament;
b) Ex-officio member of the Samiti shall continue as member as long as they hold office by virtue of
which they are members of the Samiti;
c) If a vacancy arises on the Samiti due to resignation death, etc. of a member, the member appointed
in that capacity shall hold office for the residual term of three years.
IV. General
The headquarters of the Samiti shall be in New Delhi but it may hold its meetings at any other station also.
V. Travelling and Other Allowances
The non-official member will be paid travelling and daily allowance, for attending the meeting of the Samiti
as contained in the guidelines issued by the Department of Official Language vide their O.M. No. II. 20034/4/86-
OL(A-2) dated 22.01.1987 and as per prescribed rate and rule amended by Government of India from time to time.

Ordered that a copy of this Resolution be communicated to all the State Government, Union Territory
Administration, Prime Minister’s Office, Cabinet Secretariat, Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, Lok Sabha
Secretariat, Planning Commission, President’s Secretariat, Comptroller & Auditor General of India, and all the
Ministry and Department of Government of India.
