4. Appointment notification of Mr. Shanth Avarahally Thimaiah bearing No:FEE 143 EPC 2020, dated 15.11.2021 Rectification of appointment notification dated 15.11.2021 vide Ref No. (4) in light of Appointment notification of Mr. Jayram dated 05.03.2019 vide Ref No. (3).

All the appointments for the post of Chairman of the Karnataka Pollution Control Board vide Ref (1), (2) and (3) took place for a full term of three years, and in cases any casual vacancy exits the subsequent Chairmans are appointed only for a remaining period as

provided under Section 5(6) of the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution Act).

On 05.03.2019 Mr. Jayaram was appointed as the Chairman for a period valid till

04.03.2022. Post his resignation dated 20.06.2019 following appointments of Chairman/Incharge Chairman have taken place for the remaining period of three years:

Mr. Shanth A Thimmaiah vide ref No. (2) was appointed only for the remaining period of three year tenure of Mr.

Jayaram. However, the date for his completion of tenure has been erroneously recorded as 14.11.2024 instead of 04.03.2022.

Hence, the notification dated 15.11.2021 stands rectified as follows: "Dr. Shanth Avvrahalli Thimmaiah, E-516, Nydhile Residency Gottigere, Bannerghatta Road, Bangalore is appointed as Chairman under Section 4(2) of the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution Act) for a period valid till 04.03.2022" In terms of Section 5(6) of the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution Act) and the procedure for appointment of Chairman, the appointment of Dr. Shanth Averahally Thimmaiah stands rectified and his tenure as Chairman stands completed as on

04.03.2022.
