On December 02, 2025, the Reserve Bank of India released a press statement regarding changes to the Second Schedule of the Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934. Eight Regional Rural Banks (RRBs) have been included in the Second Schedule via Notification DoR.LIC.No.S5379/16.13.300/2025-26 dated October 8, 2025, and published in the Gazette of India (Part III - Section 4) dated November 11, 2025. These RRBs are: Andhra Pradesh Grameena Bank, Gujarat Gramin Bank, Karnataka Grameena Bank, Madhya Pradesh Gramin Bank, Maharashtra Gramin Bank, Odisha Grameen Bank, Rajasthan Gramin Bank, and Uttar Pradesh Gramin Bank.
Additionally, nineteen erstwhile RRBs have been excluded from the Second Schedule via Notification DoR.LIC.No.S5377/16.13.300/2025-26 dated October 8, 2025, and published in the Gazette of India (Part III - Section 4) dated November 11, 2025. These RRBs are: Andhra Pragathi Grameena Bank, Andhra Pradesh Grameena Vikas Bank, Chaitanya Godavari Grameena Bank, Saptagiri Grameena Bank, Baroda Gujarat Gramin Bank, Saurashtra Gramin Bank, Karnataka Vikas Grameena Bank, Karnataka Gramin Bank, Madhya Pradesh Gramin Bank, Madhyanchal Gramin Bank, Maharashtra Gramin Bank, Vidharbha Konkan Gramin Bank, Odisha Gramya Bank, Utkal Grameen Bank, Rajasthan Marudhara Gramin Bank, Baroda Rajasthan Kshetriya Gramin Bank, Baroda U.P.
